Pompeii

The town of Pompeii is near Naples, in Italy. It was the home of many families in Roman times. People discovered the town in 1748 and they opened to the public in the late 18th century.

It is a small town. There are things to see, such as interesting Roman buildings, Roman baths and beautiful mosaics.

Today, there are over two million visitors a year.
